The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) is a department of the Government of Canada.
On October 12, 2020, the CRA announced the Canada Recovery Benefit (CRB) program.
On December 30, 2021, the CRA announced an expansion of the Canada Worker Lockdown Benefit (CWLB). The program offered $300/week to Canadians whose income was affected by lockdown orders.[1]
In 2022 and 2023, the CRA began contacting recipients of CRB and CERB instructing them to return payments for which they were apparently ineligible. This included people who believed they were, in fact, eligible, based on the information available to them at the time they applied.[2]
The CRA is partnered with Wilfred Laurier University (WLU) for their student co-op program.[3] The CRA has been a client of the Clinton Group.[4]
