The Decade of Vaccines (DoV) Collaboration is a supra-national non-governmental initiative “to increase coordination across the international vaccine community and create a Global Vaccine Action Plan.” It was launched in December 2010 in New York City, New York by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), UNICEF and the World Health Organization.[1]
In January 2010, Bill and Melinda Gates called for the following ten years to be a “decade of vaccines.” This was cited as the basis for the creation of the DoV Collaboration.[1:1]
