¶ Macdonald-Laurier Institute

The Macdonald-Laurier Institute (MLI) is a Canadian think tank based in Ottawa, Ontario. It is part of the Atlas Network.[1][2]
¶ History
On September 24, 2020, MLI launched DisinfoWatch, which it described as a "foreign disinformation monitoring and debunking platform." The site is particularly focused on "a toxic mix of conspiracies, hoaxes, blatant fabrications and propaganda" surrounding the declared COVID-19 pandemic.[3] The project is led by MLI senior fellow Marcus Kolga, developed with funding from the United States Department of State's Global Engagement Center, the Embassy of the United States of America in Ottawa, and Journalists for Human Rights (JHR).[4]
