The Workers' Compensation Board of British Columbia, operating as WorkSafeBC, is a Canadian provincial government agency owned by the Government of British Columbia. It is based in Richmond, British Columbia.
In September 2007, WorkSafeBC published a report titled "Sustaining Health Care Professionals during Pandemic Influenza: A Pre-incident Pilot Project", which stated that "[f]or several years, the World Health Organization and other national and international health organizations have advised health care authorities in every country to be prepared for a pandemic outbreak of a new strain of influenza virus that is likely to occur in the near future."[1] The research was conducted by the Centre for Practitioner Renewal, Providence Health Care and the University of British Columbia (UBC).
WorkSafeBC purchased advertising airtime from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) in 2020-2022.[2]
Allan Seckel was appointed as the inaugural Fair Practices Commissioner on May 1, 2023.[3]
WorkSafeBC is partnered with the British Columbia Chiropractic Association (BCCA)[4] and Cochrane Canada,[5] and has received funding from the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC).[6]
