American Values 2024 (AV24), previously the People’s Pharma Movement, is an American super PAC based in New York City. It was formed to support Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s 2024 presidential run.[1]
AV24 publishes The Kennedy Beacon and Honest Media on Substack.[2]
¶ History
The organization was formed in 2022 as the People’s Pharma Movement with an initial $500,000 contribution from Mark Gorton.[3] It endorsed a number of candidates for the 2022 midterm elections including Blake Masters, Rand Paul, Ron Johnson, Eric Schmitt, Mehmet Oz, Ted Budd, Adam Laxalt, JD Vance and Marco Rubio.[4]
On June 4, 2023, American Values 2024 launched a newsletter on Substack titled The Kennedy Beacon.[5]
On June 21, 2023, American Values 2024 revealed that EIN Presswire declined to distribute a press release announcing the launch of the super PAC.[6][7][8]
On July 3, 2023, American Values 2024 announced that it had raised $10.25 million from a mix of Republicans and Democrats.[3:1]
On July 6, 2023, super PAC co-chairman Mark Gorton announced the formal launch of The Kennedy Beacon.[9]
On July 17, 2023, The Kennedy Beacon published an article by Jeffrey Sachs describing the timeline of the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.[10]
On July 20, 2023, The Kennedy Beacon published an article by Douglas Macgregor, a retired Colonel in the United States Army, advocating against the United States' continued engagement in foreign wars over the wellbeing of Americans.[11]
On July 21, 2023, Co-chairman Tony Lyons announced that the super PAC had raised $15 million, including $5 million during Kennedy's testimony in front of the House Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government.[12]
AV24 produced an advertisement featuring RFK Jr. which ran during Super Bowl LVIII on February 11, 2024.[13] Its "idea, funding, and execution came primarily from Nicole Shanahan."[14]
On February 16, 2024, Third Way sent letters to the Secretaries of State of Arizona, Georgia, and Michigan, urging them to prevent AV24 from collecting signatures on behalf of RFK Jr. The letters were accompanied by a legal memo, dated February 5, 2024, from Jacquelyn Lopez of Elias Law Group, serving alongside Elizabeth Poston as legal representatives for Third Way.[15]
On May 13, 2024, AV24 and Kennedy filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California against Meta Platforms, Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg and ten unnamed defendants after the social media platform censored a film called Who Is Bobby Kennedy, released May 3.[16][17]
AV24 co-sponsored the Independent National Convention 2024 in September 2024.[18]
On October 12, 2024, AV24 published a call for volunteers to participate in a get-out-the-vote effort in Pennsylvania in partnership with Mighty American Strike Force (MASF) under the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) banner.[19][20] The partnership was confirmed in an October 25 press release as part of a larger $2.5 million campaign in the state, which also included funding for commercials with MAHA Alliance.[21]
