The Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), formerly Brixton Endeavours Limited, is a non-profit organization based in London, England, with a second branch of the organization based in Washington, D.C.[1]
¶ History
CCDH was founded on October 19, 2018 by Imran Ahmed, originally registering the company under the name Brixton Endeavours Limited. It changed its name to Center for Countering Digital Hate in August 2019.[2]
¶ COVID-19
On March 24, 2021, CCDH and Anti-Vax Watch co-published a report titled The Disinformation Dozen: Why platforms must act on twelve leading online anti-vaxxers. It called on social media platforms to censor and deplatform thirteen specific individuals it accused of originating the majority of so-called "disinformation" about COVID-19 and COVID-19 vaccines.[3] The "Disinformation Dozen" included:

CCDH briefed the Office of the Surgeon General and its senior advisor Eric Waldo after which the federal government applied pressure on Facebook to ramp up censorship activities.[4][5]
On April 23, 2021, CCDH's US office was registered as a nonprofit organization in the United States with an effective date of December 11, 2020.[6]
On July 31, 2023, X Corp. sued CCDH alleging it had illegally obtained data from Twitter in order to scare advertisers away from the social media platform.[7] Three days later, on August 3, Republican Congressman Jim Jordan wrote to CCDH Founder and CEO Imran Ahmed requesting all documents that would assist in "understanding the interactions between the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) and the federal government in particular, as well as between CCDH and social media companies."[8]
