Datavant is an American health information technology company based in San Francisco, California. It is a subsidiary of Roivant Sciences.
¶ History
On September 20, 2017, Roivant announced the launch of Datavant, "a new company focused on employing artificial intelligence to improve the clinical trial process."[1] Travis May and Sam Roosz are credited as co-founders.[2]
¶ COVID-19
On April 22, 2020, Datavant announced its participation in the COVID-19 Research Database, "a secure repository of HIPAA-compliant, de-identified and limited patient-level data sets made available to public health and policy researchers to extract insights to help combat the COVID-19 pandemic."[3]
On November 9, 2020, Datavant announced it was partnering with the Regenstrief Institute and the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CTSI) to support the National COVID Cohort Collaborative (N3C).[4]
In June 2021, Datavant announced a merger with Ciox Health.[5]
