Brewer worked as an unpaid minister for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on a two-year mission to Russia from 1997-1999. Upon his return, he worked as a night auditor for a Marriott International.[2]
Brewer studied at the University of Utah from 2000-2004, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting with a minor in Russian. He was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, Phi Kappa Phi and the Golden Key International Honor Society. He graduated in 2005 with a Masters Degree in Accounting, as a member of Beta Alpha Psi.[1:1]
From 2005-2009, Brewer worked as a Supervising Senior Associate at KPMG. His clients included the United States Departments of Energy and the Interior, CHG Healthcare and United Way.[2:1]
He then worked as an Associate Instructor at the University of Utah in the accounting department from 2010-2013. Meanwhile, he served as a Partner and Chief Financial Officer for Night of the Running Dead.[2:2]
