In-Q-Tel (IQT) is an American not-for-profit venture capital firm based in Arlington, Virginia owned by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
In 1998, Sue Gordon "designed and spearheaded the formation of In-Q-Tel."[1] The Central Intelligence Agency announced its launch on September 29, 1999, describing it as a "partnership between the CIA and the private sector."[2]
Following the declaration of the COVID-19 pandemic, IQT participated as a member of the COVID-19 Healthcare Coalition.[3]
IQT is primarily funded by the CIA, with additional funding from the National Security Agency (NSA), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the United States Department of Defense.[4]
IQT is a corporate partner of the NobleReach Foundation.[5]
